Adult Protective Services
In 2013 the General Assembly passed legislation to expand the Elder Abuse Investigation Program to include people with disabilities between the ages of 18-59 living in the community.
Trained agency staff serve as investigators when there is an allegation of abuse, neglect and/or financial exploitation of adults with disabilities or seniors age 60 or over.
Our staff meet with alleged victim to assess their safety and services. Depending on the outcome of the assessment, staff may link individuals to services that can address an identified need and can stay involved for up to one year providing education and support.
Services are provided in Macoupin, Montgomery, and Christian County.
To report suspected abuse, exploitation or neglect of an older person or a disabled adult:
Call the statewide, 24-hour Adult Protective Services Hotline: 1-866-800-1409,
